RAY REMMEL
UPON HIS RETIREMENT

WHEREAS, Ray Remmel has served ttie Ci t.y of Palo Al to for 25 years ~rimari l y as
our Chief Electrical Engineer for the Water, Gas and liiastewater Division; and
WHEREAS, Ray Remmel pursued his duties for the City with enthusiasm, c0111petence,
and an outstanding sense of will'L:'less to respond to public need; and
WHEREAS, ~ay ~emmel was involved in major projects such as devel opnent of the
cathodic protection system for steel gas mains, for construction and operation of the
Water Quality Control Pl ant and major water system extensions in the foothi 11 s; and
WHEREAS, ~Y Remmel was active as the City's representative to the Bay Area
Users Association and the SUburban Advisory Group of that organization, and was a
member of the South Bay Dischargers Association; and
WHEREAS, through tne outstanding efforts of Ray Remmel, the City was always wel 1
infonned of the operations of the Santa Clara Val 1 ey Water District operations and the
San Francisco Water Oistrict; and
WHEREAS, Kay Remmel, Olief Engineer for the Water, Gas and Wastewater Division
will retire on January 17, 1986.
NOW, THEREF()(E, BE IT RESOLVED tnat the Cou~cil of the City of Palo Alto hereby
gratefully records its appreciation and the appreciation of the citizens of this
canmunit; for the COlmlendab le services rendered to the City and extends to Ray Remmel
its sincere a11preciation and best wishes for a healthy and fulfilling future.
