RESOLUTION NO. 6475
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
ACCEPTING A WORK OF ART FROM MR. AND MRS. BYRON SHER
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto has long recognized the impor-
tance of visual art in our community1 and
WHEREAS, tha City of Palo Alto established an Art in Public
Places Program in 19777 and
WHEREAS, the Visual Arts Jury of the City of Palo Al to in
support of the Art in Public Place~ Program has embarked on a
campaign to seek contributions of art by artists who have either
lived or ~orked in the City of Palo Alto1 and
WHEREAS, contributions to the Art in Public Places Acquisi-
tion Program has resulted in 26 new works of art1 and
WHEREAS" Mr. and Mrs. Byron Sher made a contribution cf a
work of art entitled •Rock 'n Ro11• (ceramic sculpture) by Joseph
Mannino to the City's Permanent Collection.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE to accept this work of art and expresses, on behalf of the
residents of Palo Alto, our deepest appreciation and gratitude in
recognition of this generous contribution to the City of Palo
Alto.
