RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
ACCEPTING A WORK OF ART ~ROM LYNN POLLOCK MARSH
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto has long recognized the impor-
tance of visual art in our community1 and
WHEREAS, the ~ity of Palo ~.lto established an Art in Public
Places Program in 19771 and
WHEREAS, the Visual Arts Jury of the City of Palo Al to in
support of the Art in Public Places Program has embarked on a
camf)aign to seek contributions of art by artists who have either
lived or worked in the City of Palo Alto: and
WHEREAS, contributions to the Art in Public Place!; Acquisi-
tion Program has resulted in 26 new works of art; and
WHEREAS, the artist, Lynn Pollock Marsh, made a contribution
of her work entitled •ojed Pillar• (negro pencil and turpentine)
to the City's Permanent Collection.
NOW, 'l'REREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE to accept tht.s work of art and expresses, on behalf of the
residents of Palo Alto, our deepest appreciation and gratitude in
recognition of this generous contribution to the City of Palo
Alto.
