RESOLUTION NO. 6469
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
ACCEPTING A WORK OF ART FROM MARY CHOMENKO
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto has long recuynized the impor-
tance of visual art in our communityJ and
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Al to established an Art in Public
Places Program in 1977; and
WHEREAS, the Visual Arts Jury of the City of Palo Alto in
support of the Art in Public Places Program has embarked on a
campaign to seek contributions of art by artists who have either
lived or worked in the City of Palo Altor and
WHEREAS, cont'l'."ibutions to the Art in Public Places Acquisi-
tion Program has resulted in 26 new works of art; and
WHEREAS, the ;,rt. 3t, Mary Chomenko, made a contribution of
her work entitled "C-: .t.~stial Balls 198 3• (mono type and pastel) to
the City's Permanent Collection.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE to accept this work of art and expresses, on behalf of the
residents of Palo Alto, our deepest appreciation and gratitude in
recognition of this generous contribution to the City of Palo
Alto.
