RESOLUTION NO. 6468
~ESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL or THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
ACCEPTING A WORK OF ART FROM GERTRUDE BLEIBERG
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto has long recognized the impor-
tance of visual art in our community; and
WHEREAS, the CU:y of Palo Alto established an Art in Public
Places Program in 1977; and
WHEREAS, the Visual Arts Jury of the City of Palo Al to in
support of the Art in Public Places Program has embarked on a
campaign to seek contributions of art by artists who have either
lived or worked in the City of Palo Alto: and
WHEREAS, contributions to the Art in Public Places Acquisi-
tion Program has resulted in 26 new works of art; and
WHEREAS, the artist, Gertrude Bleiberg, made a contribution
of her work entitled "Yellow Silk Shirt'° (acrylic and oil pastel
cutout) to the City's Permanent Collection.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE to accept this work of art and expresses, on behalf of the
residents of Palo Alto, our deepest appreciation and gratitude in
recognition of this generous contribution to the City of Palo
Alto.
