HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO 6450~ RESOLUTION 6450 9 ORIGINAL K~SvLUTION OF THE COUNCIL uF THE CITY Of PALU ALTO EXPRESSING APP~ECIA~ION TO MARION HELEN PO~TER UPON HER RETIREMENT WHEREAS, Marion Helen Porter has served the City of Palo Alto as an employee in the Library Division from July 27, 1959 through November 1, 1985, and has been promoted from a Senior Cl erk to tne Super·visor of Library Ci rcul at ion; and WHEREAS, Marion Helen Porter has pursued her duties with dedication, accuracy, fairness, a sense of humor, courtesy, and respect for citizens and co-workers; and WHrnEAS, Marion Helen Porter coordinated circulation routines and policies city-wide during several er·as of library circulation systems beginnfog with the pencil and stamp method and developing into a computerized ~ystem; and WHE~EAS, Marion Helen Porter has presented oral book reviews for the 1-1ubl 1c, coord·inated library revenue co 11 ecticn processes, 3nd selected materials for library collections and in her favorite leisure reading area, Mysteries; and WHEREAS, the efforts of Marion Helen Porter, have contributed significantly to the hi~n quality library services provided to the citizens of Palo Alto; and WHE~£AS, the City of Palo Alto desires to recognize the meritorious service of Marion Helen Porter upon her retirement.
