RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
ACCEPTING A GRANT FROM CALIFORNIA ARTS COUNCIL FOR
M.l\STER CLASS PROGRAM OF THE PALO ALTO CULTURAL
CENTER
WHEREAS, the Palo Alto Cultural Center, a subdivision of the
Palo Alto Arts and Sciences Division, exists to provide high qual-
ity programs and activities which increase and enhance the public
awareness and appreciation of the visual arts: and
WHBREAS, the Master Class Program brings renowned or emerging
artists to the Palo Alto Cultural Center to offer intensive short-
term workshops on the techniques and artistic philosophy anu to
provide individual instruction in the field of their expertise:
and
WHEREAS, the California Arts Council (CAC) Artistic and
Administrative Development Program, which provides financial sup-
port to local arts organizations for project support, has agreed
to assist the Master Class Program through a grant of matching
funds1 and
WHEREAS, the City must accept this grant through formal
action;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1. The City of Palo Al to accepts a grant of Six
Thousand, Six Hundred and Twelve Dollars ( $6, 612) from the CAC
Artistic and Administrative Development Program to match funds
expended by the Palo Alto Cultural Center on the Master Class
Program.
SECTION 2. The Master Class Program will be conducted and
the grant monies expended in accordance with an agreement numbered
AC-5722, entered into between the Palo Alto Cultural Center and
the Director of the CAC and dated October 1, 1985.
SECTION 3. The City Manager, or his designee, is designated
as the official representative of the City of Palo Alto and is
authorized to accept grant funds from the CAC Artistic and Admini-
strative Development Program and to complete such documents as are
necessary to the acceptance of such funds.
SECTION 4. The Council of the City of Palo Alto finds that
this is not a project under the California Environmental Quality
Act, and, therefore, no environmental impact assessment is neces-
sary.
