RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO
DARET GALE BARCLAY
UPON HIS RETIREMENT
WHEREAS, Daret Gale Barclay has served the Citv of Palo Alto
from December 4, 1957 through June 25, 1984, as Firefighter, Fire
Inspector. and Fire Apparatus Operator in the Palo Alto Fire
Department; and
WHEREAS, Dar et Gale Ba relay has pursued his duties for safety of
our citizens with enthusiasm, thoroughness, common sense, fairness,
compassion, and courtesy; and
WHEREAS, Daret Gale !3arclay has taken an active part in Fire
Department programs sue h as fire suppression, fire train i rig, fire
prevention, and fire administration; and
WHEREAS, through the efforts and

WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto desires to recognize the
meritorious service of Dale Gale Barclay.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of
Palo Alto hereby commends the outstanding public service of Daret Gale
Barclay and records its appreciation, as well as the appreciation of
the citizens of this community, for the service and contribution
rendered during his 27 years of employment with the City.
