RE SOL UT ION OF THE COUNC It OF THE CITY OF PALO AL TO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO
ROBERT LEE CLEVELAND
UPON HIS RETIREMENT
WHEREAS, Robert Lee Cleveland has served the City of Palo Alto
from September 22, 1960 through June 10, 1985, as Firefighter, Fire
Apparatus Operator, Fire Specialist, Fire Inspector, and Fire Marshal
in the Palo Al to Fi re Department; and
WKEREAS, Robert Lee Cleveland has pursued his duties for safety
of our citizens with enthusiasm, thoroughness, common sense, fairness,
compassion, and courtesy; and
WHEREAS, Robert Lee Cleveland was highly respected for his
dedication to his job while inspiring and encouraging fellow workers
with a sense of humor; and
WHEREAS, Robert Lee Cleveland has taken an :.ctive \)art in Fire
Department programs such as fire suppression, fire training, fire
prevention, and fire administration; and
WHEREAS, through the efforts and contributions of Robert Lee
Cleveland, the City continues to occupy a position of respect in terms
of emergency services provided to its citizens by the City Fire
Department; and
WHEREAS~ the City of Palo Alto desires to recognize the
meritorious service of Robert Lee Cleveland.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of
Palo Alto hereby commends the outstanding public service of Robert Lee
Cleveland and records its appreciation, as well as the appreciation of
the citizens of this community, for the service and ~ontribution
rendered during his 25 years of employment with the City.
