RESOLUTION NO. 6392
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
IMPLEMENTING THE EVERGREEN PARK TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT
PLAN AND AMENDING THE CITYWIDE STOP INTERSEC'l'ION
SYSTEM MAP
WHEREAS, Transportation Policy 4 of the Palo Alto Comprehensive
Plan urges the reduction of: through traffic on residential streets1
and
WHEREAS, City staff performed a traffic study of the Evergreen
Park neighborhood which documented a substantial percentage of through
traffic on some Evergreen Park streets; and
WHEREAS, two traffic management plans have been in place on a
trial basis for approximately a fifteen-month period1 and
WHEREAS, the Council has determined that the interests of the
citizens of Palo Alto will be served by permanent implementation of the
second trial traffic management plan in the E"'ergreen Park neighbor-
hood; a!"d
WHEREAS, the traffic management plan includes new stop signs and
removal of stop signs in various parts of the Evergreen Park
neighborhood.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto d:>es RESOLVE
as follows:
SECTION l. The Evergreen Park traffic management plan, as set
forth in •Figure 3• attached hereto and incorporated herein by refer-
ence, is hereby adopted.
SECTION 2. The additions to and deletions from the existing stop
sign system, as set forth in Exhibit B, attached hereto and incorporat-
ed herein by reference, are hereby adopted as an amendment to the •stop
Intersection System Map• of the City of Palo Alto.
SECTION 3. The Council finds that there is no substantial evi-
dence that this project will have a significant effect on th'! environ-
ment and approves a negative declaration for the project.
