HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO 6371ORIGINAL RESOLUTION NO~ 6371 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO REVERSING THE DIRECTION OF ONE-WAY-TRAFFIC ON A PORTION OF LANE 13 WEST WHEREAS, the construction of a new bank building at the co~ner of Ramona and Lytton Streets was approved by the Architectural Review Board in May, 1984 on the condition that the direction of flow on a portion of Lane 13 West be reversed so that suitable access to the bank's underground parking and appropriate traffic circulation can be provided; and WHEREAS, pedestrian safety will be improved by the reversal of one-way traffic un Lane 13 West Jince. tt"affic at a •blind building corner• will be eliminated. NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows: SECTION 1. The direction of traffic flow on the east-west segment of Lane 13 West, known as •Ramona Alley•, shown on Exhibit •A• attached hereto and incorporated herein by refer !nee, i!; hereby reversed from eastbound to westbound. SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby directed to install appro- priate signage pursuant to Palo Alto Municipal Code Chapter 10.20. SECTION 3. The Council finds that this project is categorically exempt from the requir~.uents of the California Environmental quality Act under Class I (Existing Facilities) and does not require an en- viornmental assessment. The environmental impact of the traffic in this alley generated by the proposed bank was evaluated in a previous environmental impact assessment ( 84-EIA-32) 1 no further environmental assessment is necessary.
