RESOLUTION ~ THE COUNCIL OF THE c f OF PALO ALTO
APPROV~NG AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A GRANT AGREEMENT
WITH THE CALIFORNIA !N~Y COMMISSION RELATING TO
WEATH~RIZATION ASSISTANCE FOR PERSONS OF LIMITED INCOME
{ ....,;· ~ "f,\ -' ' ~ H L WHEREAS, the Palo Alto City Council recognizes that it is in the
interest of the national economy to encourage eneryy conservation
thereby reducing the nation's dependence on foreign sources of energy
supply;
WHEREAS, funds have been established by the United States Congress
pursuant to the Energy Security Act, 12 U. s. C. 3601 et seq, and are
available from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
through the Cal;_fornia Energy Commission for grants and loans to local
governments for e~ergy conservation activities;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE
as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council authorizes the submittal of an
application of California Energy Conuniss ion for a grant to implement
the City of Palo Al to Energy Conservation Bank Program by the City
Manager, who is hereby authorized and empowered to execute in the name
of the City of Palo Alto, all necessary applications, contracts,
agreements, and amendments hereto to implement and carry out the
purpos6s specified in this rer.olution.
SECTION 2. The Grant Agreement numbered 962-84-003 dated January
11, 1985 by and between the California Energy Commission and the City
of Palo Alto is hereby approved and the Mayor or the City Manager is
hereby authorized to exec~te said Agreement on behalf of the City.
