RESOLUTION NO. 6314 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF TM! CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 6146 RELATING TO CABLE
TELEVISION
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Palo Alto on June 27, 1983,
adopted certain disclosure and conduct requirements relating to the
franchising of cable television in Resolution No. 6146; and
WHEREAS, on June 19, 1984, the Council targeted two potential
cable service providers for further negotiations with the City; and
WHEREAS, negotiations with said cable service providers will be
facilitated, and the public interest will best be served by certain
amendments to Resolution No. 6146;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE
as follows:
SECTION l. Section 4 ot Resolution No. 6146 is hereby amended to
read as follows:
All City officials and employees, including the
individuals designated in th2 fcregoing Section 2,
shall prepare a written memorandum summarizing the
general substantive nature of each discuFsion with
any lobbyst or other person acting on behalf of any
person financially interested in cable television
in the City except those which occur at open public
forums, or in contacts or meetings initiated by the
City Mana9er or anyone authorized by the City Man-
ager to carry ~ut franchise negotiations authorized
by the City Council on June 19, 1984. A copy of
each such memorandum, together with any materials
received by any City official or employee, shall be
submitted to the City Clerk.•
SECTION 2. The Council finds that none of the provisions of this
ordinance will have a significant adverse environmental impact.
