RESOLUTION OF THE CUUNC IL Of THE C I'f Y O~' PALO ALTO
IMPL~MENTING TH~ 8V~RGMEEN PARK TRA~fIC CUNTRUL PLAN
AND AMENDING TH~ ClTYWIU~ STOP INTERSECTION MAP
WHEREAS, Transportation Policy 4 ot the Palo Al to Comprehensive
Plan ut"ges the reduction of throuyh traffic on residential streets;
and
WHEHEAS, City S\:aft performed a traft ic study ot the Evergreen
Park neighborhood which documented a substantial percentage of through
traffic on some Evergreen ~ark streets; and
WHEREAS, a traffic control plan has been in place on a trial basis
for a six month perioo; and
WHERBAS, the Council has detecmined that the interests of the
citizens of Palo Alto will be servea by implementation of a second five
rnonth tr ia 1 traffic control plan in the EvenJreen Park neighborhood;
and
WHEREA8, the second trial traf tic control plan inc 1 udes new stop
siyns and removal of stop signs in various parts of the Evergreen Park
neighborh0od.
NOW, TtlEkEFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE
as follows:
SECTION 1. The second Evergreen Park trial traffic control plan,
as set forth in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein by
reference, is hereby adopted for a five month trial period.
SECTION 2. The additions to a~d deletions from the existing stop
sign system, as set forth in Exhibit H, attached hereto and incorporat-
ed herein by reference, are hereby adopted as an amendment to the "Stop
Intersection System Map" of the City of Palo Alto.
SECTION 3. The Council finds that this project will have no
significant environmental impact.
