RESOLUTION NO. 6272 ------RESOLUTION OF COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING SCHEDULES S-1 AND S-2 OF THF. CITY OF PALO ALTO
UTILITIF.S RATES ANu CHARGES PERTAINING TO DOMESTIC AND
COMMERCI~L WASTEWATER COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL RATfS
The Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to section 12.20.0lO of the Palo Alto Muni~
cipal Code, Schedules S-1 (Domestic Wclstewater Collection and Disposal)
and S-2 ( Comm(;lrc ial wastewater Collection and Disposal) of the Palo
Alto Utilities Rates and Charges hereby are amended to read as shown on
Sheets s-1-1, s-2-1. and S-2-2, respectively, .::it tached hereto and in-
corporated herein.
SECTION 2. This Council finds that the revenue derived from t~e
authorized adJustments of said rates by the City Manager shall be used
only for the purposes set forth in the Palo Alto City Charter, Article
VII, section 2, ~ntitled "Public Utilities Revenue•. The adoption of
this resolution, is, therefore, specifically exempted under Public
Resources Code Section 21080(b)(8) irom the requirements of CEQA.
SECTION 3. The foregoing changes shall become eff~ctive July 1,
1984.

SPECIAL IOTES:
An i>ecupied domestic dwelling is designated as any house. cottage~ flat,
duplex uriit, or apartment unit having kitchen, bath9 and sleeping facilities
and to which utilities services are being rendered.
Any dwelling unit not being indiyidually served by gas or electric meter will
be tonsidered as continuously occupied.
Foe any dwelling unit being served by more than one wastewater connection,
the mont~1y charge will be applied to each connection.

SPECIAL llOTES:
Upon application from establishments maintaining extensive irrigation land-
scaping, the monthly charge will be based upon the average water usage for
the months of January, February and March.
Sewage metering facilities may t:e required, in which case service will be
governed by terms of a special agreeme~t.
Charges for large discharges (25,000 gallons per day or greater) will be
determined on the basis of sampling as outlined in Utilities Rule and
Regulation 23C. Ann~al charges will be tetermined and allocated monthly.
