WH£REAS, the c1ties of Palo. Leyte. Philippines, and Palo Alto.
California,. U.S.A., have enjoyed a sister-city relationship since

WHERtAS, th~ purµose of this relationship, which has been
administered by the Giants Club of Palo and Neighbors Abroad of Palo
Alto, is to promote international and intel'"cultural understanding;

WHEIU.AS, the warmth and understanding which has developed
between the citizens ot our two cities has been meaningful to
resioents of both communittes; and
WHE~~AS, in recognition of the twenty-first anniversary of this
sister city relat1onshiµ. Palo Alto is sponsoring an official visit by
members of Nei9hbors Abruad to Palo; and
WHtKtAS, the off1c1al visit to Palo will strengthen the
interculturaJ unoerstandiny whicn binds our two cities.
NUW. THEREFv~£. tne Council of the C1ty of Palo Alto does RESOLVE
as fol lows:
SECTlON 1. Tnat the Council of this city sends its greetings to
the Council and citizens of Palo and congratulates the Giar.ts Club of
Pdio ana Neighbors Abrodd of Palo Alto on the occasion of Palo Alto's
first off1cial visit to Palo and the twenty-first anniversary of the
sister city relationship between the two cities.
SECTION 2. That the City of Palo Alto looks forward to many
years of continued cultural exchange and a close sister city
relationship with Pdlo, Leyte, Phillipines.
