EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO
WILLIAM BRADLEY MOON
UPON HIS RETIREMENT
WHEREAS, William Bradley Moon has served the City of Palo
Alto as firefighter and apparatus operator from June 30, 1CJ59
through October 28, 1962, as Fire Captain from October 29, 1962
through August 9, 1970, and Battalion Chief from August 10, 1970
through December 30, 1983; and
WHEREAS, William Bradley Moon has pursued his duties for
safety of our citizens with enthusiasm, thoroughness, common
sense, fairness, compassion and courtesy; and
WHEREAS, William Bradley Moon has taken an active part in
Fire Department programs such as fire training, fire apparatus
maintenance, specifications, purchasing, firefighter recruitment,
testing and training, and promotional processes for fire captain
and battalion chief; and
WHEREAS, through the effort~ and contributions of William
Bradley Moon, the City continues to occupy a position of respect
in terms cf emergency services provided to its citizens by the
City Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto desires to recogr.ize the
meritorious service of William Brad1ey Moon.
NOW~ THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City
of Palo Alto hereby commends the outstanding public service of
William Bradley Moon and records its appreciation as well as the
appreciation of the citizens of th~s community for the service and
contribution rendered during his 24 years of employment with the
city.
