HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO 6215e RESOLUTION 6215 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO JOSEPH LOUIS LONGABAUGH UPON HIS RETIREMENT WHEREAS, Joseph Louis Longabaugh has served the City of Palo Alto as firefighter from November 15, 1953 through "1ay 7, 1959, appointed as Fire Captain in May 6, 1959 and served as training officer and suppression captain for a combined 24 years; and WHEREAS, Joseph Louis Longabaugh has pursued his duties for the safety of our citizens with enthusiasm, thoroughness, common sense, fairness and courtesty; and WHEREAS, Joseph Louis Longabaugh has taken an active part in Fire Department programs such as fire training, fire prevention inspections, public education, emergency medical services and fireground command. WHEREAS, through the efforts and contributions of Joseph Louis Longabaugh, the City continues to occupy a position of respect in terms of emergency services provided to its citizens by the City Fire Department; and WHFREAS, the City of Palo ~.lto desires to recognize the meritorious service of Joseph Louis Longabaugh. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Palo Alto hereby commends the outstanding public service of Joseph Louis Longabaugh and records its appreciation as well as the appreciation of the citizens of this community for the service and contribution rendered during his 30 ye~rs of employment with the City.
