HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO 6201.. ... • ORIGlt~AL RESOLUTION NO. 6201 RESOLUTIOM OF THE COUNCIL OF TliE CITY OF PALO ALTO AMENDING THE PALO ALTO COMPREHENSIVE PLAN WITH REGARD TO REDUCING EMPLOYMENT AND TRAFFIC POTENTIAL WHEREAS, the Planning Connnission en October 26, 1983, held a prop- erly noticed public hearing to consider amendments to the Palo Alto Comprehensive Plan. NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows: SECTION 1. The Council finds that changed conditions and the public interest, health, safety and welfare require certai.n amendments to the Pa.lo Alto Comprehensive Plan set forth in paragraph 2 hereof. SECTION 2. The Counci 1 hereby amends the Comprehensive Plan by adding new Comprehensive Plan Employment programs la and lb~ Employment Programs la and lb: l.a. Establish zoning restrictions, such as non-resi- dential site coverage limits, floor area ratio restrictions, height limits, and limitations on use where needed, to reduce employment potential. 1. b. In congested traffic corridors, when transporta- tion improvements are not physically or economi- cally feasible, oppose zone changes which will permit employment generating development with higher traffic potential than exists at the time the zone change is requested. SECTION 3. The Council hereby finds that the adoption of the amendments to the Palo Al to C•:)mprehensi ve Plan set forth in paragraph 2 hereof will not cause any significant enviromental impacts.
