RESOLUTION NO. 6192
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
I~PLEMENTING THE EVERGREEN PARK TRAFFIC CONTROL
STRATEGY AND AMENDING THE CITYWIDE STOP INTERSEC-
TION MAP FOR A TRIAL PERIOD OF SIX MONTHS
WHEREAS, City staff has performed a traffic study of the Evergreen
Park neighborhood which documents a substantial percentage of through
traffic on some Evergreen Park streets1 and
WHEREAS, Transportation Policy 4 of the Palo Alto Comprehensive
Plan urges the reduction of through traffic on residential streets 1
and
WHEREAS, the Council has determined that the interests of the
citizens of Palo Alto will be well served by implementation of tcaffic
control techniques in the Evergreen Park neighborhood for a trial
period of six monthSJ and
WHEREAS, the traffic control techniques include ne~ stop signs and
removal of stop signs in various parts of the Evergreen Park neighbOr-
hood.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE
as follows:
SECTION 1. The Evergreen Park traffic control strategy, as set
forth-in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein by refer-
ence, is hereby adopted for a six month trial period.
SECTION 2. The additions to and deletions from the existing stop
sign system, as set forth in Exhibit B, attached hereto and incorporat-
ed herein by reference, are hereby adopted as an amendment tc the City
of Palo Alto's •stop Intersection System Map•.
SECTlON 3. The Council finds that this project will have no
significant environmental impact.
