RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
RECOSNIZING THE PRESENCE OF. AND WELCOMING TO TiiE CITY OF PALO ALTO
REPRESENTATIVES OF ENSCHEDE, THE NETHERLANDS
WHEREAS, cultural exchange resu1ting from people-to-people co.municat1on 1s the
foundation C'lf the Sister City Program which attempts to further international under-
standing; and
WHEREAS, the City of Enschede is Palo Alto's Sister City 1n The Netherlands and
has honored Palo Alto by sending its representatives to visit th~s city; and
WHEREAS, the City of ?alo Alto w1shes to welcome Pi et J. Flint, Lydta A. Flfnt
de Bruin, Paul A. ter Wieeme, Helga ter Weeme-Steinmann, G. Udding, G. Udding~van Gogh,
Marfa J. G. Jap1nk-Pots. Janna van der Schoor-Han"ew1jk, B. Dekker, Bertus Wcrkel,
Dick ter Weeme, Rita Hehenkamp-Kayser and Annie Kayser to our Cfty; and
WHEREAS. participation in thh cultural exchange exemplifies the mutual objec-
tives of the two cities, namely, to promote. encourage and cultivate understanding
between the people of Enschede and Palo Alto; and
WHEREAS, the opportunity to welcome the Enschede visfiors to Palo Alto has proven
to be l!l.ltually beneficial.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1. That the Palo Al to City Council recognizes the presence of Pi et J.
Flint. LyauA. Flint de Bruin, Paul A. ter Weeme, Helga ter Weeme-Steinmann, G.
Udding, G. Udding-van Gogh, Maria J .. G. Jap1nk-Potst Janna van der Schoor-Hannewijk,
B. Dekker, Bertus Workel, Dick ter Weeme, Rita Hehenkamp-Kayser and Annie Kayser from
our Sister City of Enschede and welcomes them to this COflmUnity.
SECTION 2. That thfs Council, on behalf of the people of Palo Alto, expresses fts
heartfelt appreciation to the City of Enschede and its representatives for their
s1gn1ffcant contribution to the Sister City program.

RESOLUTION OF COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING SCHEDDLBS E-1, E-2, E-3 AND E-4 OF THE CITY OF
PALO ALTO UTILITIES RATES AND CHARGES PERTAINING TO
DOMESTIC, COMMERCIAL, CUSTOMER-OWNED GENERATION
AND STREET AND HIGHWAY LIGHTING RATES
The Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows:
SBCTION 1. Pursuant to Section 12.20.010 of the Palo Alto
Muni~1pal Code, Schedules E-1 (Domestic Electric Service), E-2
(Co111lllercial Electric Service), E-3 (Customer-awned Generation) and
E-4 (Street and Highway Lighting) of the Palo Alto Utilities Rates
and Charges hereby are amended to read as shown on Sheets E-1-1 ,
E-2-1, E-2-2, E-2-3, E-2-4, E-3-1, E-3-2, E-4-1, E-4-2, E-4-3, and
E-4-4, respectively, attached hereto and incorporated herein.
SECTION 2. This Council finds that the revenue from the
authorized adjustments of said electric rates by the City Manager
shall be used only for the purposes set forth in the Palo Alto City
Charter, Article VII, Section 2, entitled •public Utilities
Revenue•. The adoption of this Resolution is, therefore, specifi-
cally exempted under Public Resources Code Section 21080(b}(8) from
the requir~aents of CEQA.
SECTION 3.
October 1, 1983.
The foregoing changes shall become effective
