RESOLUTION NO. 6179
RESOLUTION OF TBF. COUNCIL OP THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
OF INTENTION TO APPROVE AN AMENDMENT TC CONTRACT
BETWEEN THE BOARD OP ADMINISTRATION OP TSE PUBLIC
EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM AND THE CITY OF PALO
ALTO
WHEREAS, the Public Employees' Retirement Law permits the partici-
pation of public agencies and their employees in the Public Employees'
Retirement System by the execution of a contract, and sets forth the
procedure by which said public agencies may elect to subject them.selves
and their employees to aaendments to said Law~ and
WHEREAS, one of the steps in the procedure to a.Blend thi~ contract
is the adoption by the legislative body of the public agency of a
resolution giving notice of its intention to approve an amendment to
said contract, which resolution shall contain a suamary of the change
proposed in said contract; and
WHEREAS, the following is a statement of the proposed change:

NOW, TBBRBPORP., the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RBSOLVB
as follows:
SECTION l. The City Council of the City of Palo Alto hereby gives
notice of its intention to approve·~n aaendil!er.t to the contract between
the City of Palo Alto and the Board of Adainistration of the Public
Employees' Retireaent System.
SECTION 2. The proposed amendment to the contract is set forth in
Eshiblt 1 A1 attached hereto and by this reference aade a part hereof.
SBCTIOH 3. The Council finds that this is not a project under the
California Environmental Quality Act and, therefore, no environaental
impact assesmnent is necessary.
