AGREEMENT WITH THE CALIFORNIA ENERGY COMMISSION RELATING
TO WEATHERIZATION ASSISTANCE FOR PERSONS OF LIMITED INCOME
WHEREAS, the Palo Alto City Council recognizes that it is in the
interest of the national economy to encourage energy conservation
thereby reducing the nation's dependence on foreign sources of energy
supply;
WHEREAS, funds have been established by the United States Congress
pursuant to the Energy Security Act, 12 u.s.c. 3601 et seq, and are
available from the Deparmtnet of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
through the California Energy Commission for grnats and loans to local
governments for energy conservation activities1
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE
as follows:
Section 1. The City Council authorizes the submittal of an appli-
cation of caflfornia Energy Commission for a grant to implement the
City of Palo Alto Energy Conservation Bank Program by the City Manager,
who is hereby authorized and ewpowered to execute in the name of the
City of Palo Alto, all necessary applications, contracts, agreements,
and amendments hereto to implement and carry out the purposes specified
in this resolutiono
Section 2. The Grant Agreement numbered 962-82-00S dated June 24,
1983 by and between the California Energy Commission and the City of
Palo Alto is hereby approved and the Mayor or the City Manager is here-
by authorized to execute said Agreement on behalf of the City.
