HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO 6173RESOLUTION NO. 6173 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO AMENDING UTILITY RATE SCHEDULES G-1 AND G-50 AS A RESULT OF TRACKING PG~E GAS RATE CHANGES WHEREAS, the City Council has previously adopted Resolution No. 6082, which authorizes the City Manager to implement nondis- cretionary adjustments to Palo Alto gas rates to reflect wholesale gas rate increases and to track Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) retail rate schedules G-1, G-2, and G-50; and WHEREAS, effec~ive June 15, 1983, and July 1, 1983, revenue increases were granted PG&E resulting in rate increases to its retail and wholesale rate schedules1 and WHEREAS, the City Manager automatically adjusted revenues to match and offset these rate changes and in accordance with Reso- lution No. 6082 has notified this Council of his ministerial action: NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows: SECTION 1. This Council finds that the action taken by the City Manager is in accordance with the provisions of Resolution No. 6082 that the Palo Alto Gas Rate Schedules G-1 and G-50 shall substantially conform with those rates contained on PG&E General Service Rate Schedules G-1, G-2, and G-501 that the effective dates are identical to the dates of the price increases1 and that in all respects such nondiscretionary adjustments are approved. SECTION 2. This Council finds that the revenue derived from the authorized adjustments of said gas rates by the City Manager shall be used only for the purposes set forth in the Palo Al to City Charter, Article VII, Section 2, entitled •Public Utilities Revenue.• The adoption of this resolution is, therefore, specifi- cally exempted urider the Public Resources Code Section 21080(b)(8) from the requirements of CEQA. SECTION 3.. Pu rs uan t to Section 12. 20 .. O 1 0 of the Palo Al to Municipal Code, Schedules G-l and G-50 of the Palo Alto Utili::ies Rates and charges are amended to read as shown on Sheet Nos. G-1-1 and G-50-1 dated July 1, 1983 attacheu hereto and incorporated herein.
