RESOLUTION NO. 6164
RESOLOTIO'ri OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OP PALO AL1rO
AMENDING THE COMPENSATION PLAN FOR MANAGEMENT PERSONNEL
WHEREAS, on July 11, 1983, the City Council approved Resolution
No. 6148 amending the compensation plan for management personnel; and
WHEREAS, a portion of this plan included a provision that effec-
tive with the pay period including July 1, 1983, there would be a pick-
up (pay) by City of seven percent of the ~mployee's mandatory Public
Employees' Retirement System (PERS) contribution1 and
WHEREAS, the City Council did not intend that this provision apply
to the Council Appointed Officers and wishes to amend the plan to spe-
cifically reflect its intention1
NON, TBBRSFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE
as follows:
SECTION 1. That Section II.M. of the Compensation Plan for
Manageaent and Council Appointees as amended by Resolution No. 6148 is
hereby amended to read as follows:
•M. Retireaent
Effective with the pay period including July
1, 1983, the City shall 'pick-up' {pay) seven
percent (7') of the employee's aandatory Pub-
lic Employees 1 Retireaent System (PERS) con-
tribution. Such pick-up contributions shall
be paid by the City in lieu of eaployee con-
tributions notwithstanding the fact that such
pick-up of contributions may be designated as
employee contributions for purposes of PERS.
This provision shall not apply to the Council
Appointed Officersr namely, the City Manager,
Attorney, Clerk, and Controller."
SECTION 2. The Council finds that this ia not a project under the
California Enviro1111ental Quality Act and, therefore, no enviroruaental
impact assessaent is necessary.
