RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF T~H~E-C~I~T~Y OF PALO ALTO
APPROVING AN INCREASE IN FINANCIAL COMMITMENT OF NCPA A..~D THE CITY
RELATING TO THE LICENSING OF 1.'HE FEATHER RIVER PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Northern California Power Agency (NCPA),
Sacramento Municipal Utilities Di::":rict and several southern
California cities have e~1tered into a Feather River Licensing
Application Agreement to pursue a joint application with the Federal
Energy Regulatory ComJDission (FERC) for a license for the constructed
Rock Creek-Cresta Project No. 1962 (known as the •Feather River
Project•) 1 and
WHEREAS, NCPA baa authorized the filing of such a joint applica-
tion with the FERC1 and
WHEREAS, Palo Al to is actively pursuing participation in the
Fe~ther Project1 and
WHEREAS, NCPA has entered a Second Phase Agreement with City of
Palo Alto and other NCPA members for relicensing of the Feather River
Project (hereafter •The Agreement•) dated May 15, 1981;
NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RE-
SOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1. The City of Palo Alto hereby approves the increase
in f inanclal colllllitment of NCPA under Section 6 of The Agreement from
approximately $184,575 to $500,000, (the City's pro rata share of
which increase is from approximately $68,000 to approximately
$183,400).
