RESOLUTION NO. 6122 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF TH! CIT~ OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING UTILITY RATE SCHEDULES G-1 AND G-50 AS A
RESULT OF TRACKING PG&E GAS RATE CHANGES
WHEREAS, the City Council has previously adopted Resolution No.
6082, which authorizes the City Manager to implement nond iscretionary
adjustments to Palo Alto gas rates to reflect wholesale qas rate in-
creases and to tract Pacific Gas and Electric {PG&E) retail rate
schedules G-1, G-2, and r,-50: and
WHEREAS,. on March 2, 1983, PG&E filed Advice No. 1215-G with the
California Public Utilities Commission (PUC) requesting an increase in
its retail rate schedules: and
WHEREAS, the PUC has approved this rate increase for PG&E's retail
customers and authorized PG&E to enact a rate change in accordance with
its Adv~ce No. 1215-G to become effective April 6~ 1983; and
WHEREAS, on April 6, 1983, the City Manager adjusted Palo Alto's
retail rates to match this rat~ change, and in accordance with Resolu-
tion No .. 6082 is required to notify this Council of his ministerial
action;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE
as follows:
SECTION 1. This Council finds that the action taken by the City
Manager is in accordance with the provisions of Resolution No. 6082;
that the Palo Alto Gas Rate Schedules G-1 and G-50 shall substantially
conform with those rates contained in PG&E General Service Rate Sched-
ules G-1, G-2, and G-50: that the effective date is April 6, 1983; and
that in all respects such nondiscretionary adjustments are approved.
SECTION 2. This Council fii1ds that the revenue derived from the
authorized adJustments of said gas rates by the City Manager shall be
used only for the purposes set forth in the Palo Alto City Charter,
Article VII, Section 2, entitled •public Utilities Revenue.• The adop-
tion of this resolution is, therefore, specifically exempted under
Public Resources Code Section 21080(b)(8) from the requirements of
CEQA.
SECTION 3a Pursuant to Section 12.20.010 of the Palo Alto Munici-
pal cOde, ScF...edulee G-1 and G-SQ of the Palo Alto Utiltities Rates and
Charges are amended to read as shown on •sheets No. 116f and 1 h•
attached hereto and incorporated herein.
