RESOLUTION NO. 6084
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AUTHORIZING THE FILING OP A CLAIM WITR THE ME1.rRO-
POLITAN TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION FOR ALLOCATION OF
TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT ACT FUNDS FOR FISCAL
YEAR 1983-84
WHEREAS, the Transportation Development Act {TDA), as amended
(Public Utilities Code Sections 99200 et. seq.), provides for the dis-
bursement of funds from the Local Transportation Fund of the County of
Santa Clara for use by eligible claimants for the purpose of prov idinq
pedestrian and bicycle facilities; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provision of TOA, as amended, and pursu-
ant to the applicable rules and regulations thereunder (21 California
Administrative Code Sections 6600 et. seq.) a prospective claimant
wishing to receive an allocation from the Local Transportation Fund
shall file its claim with the Metropolitan Transportation Commission 1
and
WHEREAS, TDA funds from the Local Transportation F1.1nd of Santa
Clara County will be required by the City of Palo Alto in Fiscal Year
1983-84 for the construction of the Bryant Street Bicycle Bridge pro-
ject: and
WHEREAS, this project is in accordance with the policy in the
Palo Alto Comprehensive Plan to promot.e bicycle use.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE
as followsi
SECTION 1. The Council bereby approves and authorizes the City
Manager to execute and file an appropriate claim, together with all
necessary support inq d!>cuments, pursuant to the terms of the '!'DA as
amended and the applicable rules and requlations promulgated ther~
under, with the Metropolitan Transportation Com111ission, for Thirty-Five
Th~usand Dollars ($35,000) of fiscal year 1983-84 Transportation
Oe!velopment Act Monies for the Bryant Street Bicycle Bridge project.
SECTION 2. The City Cler:k is hereby directed to transmit a copy
of thI-e resolution to the lletropolitan Transportation eo-ission in
conjunction with the filing of the clai•~ and the Metropolitan Trans-
portation Co•tission is requested to concur in these findings and grant
the allocatillns of funds as specified herein ..
SECTION J. The Council finds that th~ Bicycle Bridge project will
have no significant environaental impact.
