RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO DECLARING ITS
INTENT TO VACATE AN EASEMENT F~ PUBLIC STREET PURPOSES BEING A POIHION
OF GRANT AVENUE BETWEEN PARK BOULEVARD ANO THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC RAILWAY TRACTS.
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the Counctl of the City of Palo Alto to vacate a
possible easement for public street purposes acquired by implication on the Map
of Addition to the To""1 of Mayfield, recorded in Book C of Miscellaneous
Records, at Page 641, Records of Santa Clara County in the City of Palo Alto,
County of Santa Clara, State of California as described in Exhibit "AM attached
hereto and as shown on a map marked Exhibit "B* attached hereto and by reference
made a part hereof; and
WHEREAS, the council of the City of Palo Alto intends to vacate Such easement
accord1 ng to the procedures set forth in California Streets and Highways Code
Division 9, Part 3, Chapter 3; and
WHEREAS, t 11e adjacent property owners propose to develop their property
including this ea~ement, and upon such development, which include~ relocation of
the access to the Southern Pacific parking lot, there will be no foreseeable
future use for this easement;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1. The Council of the City of Palo Alto does hereby declare 1ts intent
to vacate a possible easement for public street purposes in the City of Palo
Alto, County of Santa Clara, State of California, as described in Exhibit "A"
attached hereto and as shown on a map marked Exhibit 11 8" attached hereto and
placed on fi1e in the office of The City Clerk.
SECTION 2. The Council hereby orders a public hearing take place on December 7, 19SI at the hour of 7:30 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard
in The Council Chambers, 250 Hamilton Avenue, Palo Alto, California for all
persons interested in the proposed vacation.
SECTION 3. The Council finds that this is not a project under the California
Environmental Quality Act and, therefore, no environmental impact assessment is
necessary.
