RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL Of THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO
FRANCIS V. MESHINSKI UPON HIS RETIREMENT
WHEREAS, Francis V. Meshinski retired on November 1, 1981, after 30 years of
continuing service with the Palo Alto Police Department; and
WHEREAS, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant on August 1, 1959 in recognition
of his performance; and
WHEREAS, "Ski" was an inspiration to the youths of Palo Alto for his active 30
years in the Boy Scouts of America; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant Meshinski coordinated the Palo Alto School District1 s student
traffic patrol and bicycle safety programs for 20 years; and
WHEREAS~ he received recognition for his outstanding performance by being named
"Outstanding Police Officer" by the Independent Insur a nee Agents Associ ~t ion in 1966;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council is proud cf his worK performance and appreciative of
his years of dedication.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Palo Alto hereby
gratefully records its appreciation of the citizens of this coamunity for faithful
service rendered to the City and extends to Francis V. Meshinski its sincere best
wishes for a long and happy retirement.
