R(SOLUTlON Of THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY Of PALO ALTO
RECOGNIZING THE PRESENCE OF, ANO WELCOMING TO THE CITY Of PALO ALTO
A REPRESENTATIVE FRCtt ENSCHEDE, NETHERLANDS
WHrnEAS, cultural exchange resulting from people-to-people corrrnunication
is the foundation of the Sister City Program which attempts to further international
understanding; and
WHEHEAS, Enschede pays its respect to Palo Alto by sending its representative
COR BOUWHUIS; and
WHEl\EAS, COR BOUWHUIS is welcomed to the City of Palo Alto and into the homes of
Palo Alto residents; dnd
WHEREAS, this visit by COR BOUWHUIS exemplifies the mutual objective
of the two cities, that of attempting to promote and encourage and cultivate
understanding between the people of the two conmunities; and
WHEREAS, this exchange program has proven to be mutual1y beneficial;
NOW, THEREFORE the Counci1 of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1: That this Council recognizes the presence of, COR BOUWHUIS
and welcomes COR BOUWHUIS to this conmunity from our Sister City of Enschede.
SECTION 2: That this Council on behalf of the people of Palo Alto expresses its
heartfelt appreciation to COR BOUWHUIS for his warm and significant contribution to
the Sister City program.
SECTION 3: That this Council honors and recognizes this visit as a
vital element in the perpetuation and continuation of this program.
