HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO 5918, • ORIGINAL RESOLUTION NO. 5918 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF TRE Cl¥Y OF PALO ALTO STATING ITS APPRECIATION TO PARTICIPANTS OF THE GREAT CALIFORNIA RESOURCE RALLY WHEREAS, during the week of April 20-26, 1981, the City of Palo Alto and the California State Solid Waste ManageMent Board co-spon- sored the Great California Resource Rally in the City of Palo Alto which encouraged citizens to recycle and clean up litter: and WHEREAS, in Palo Alto the Rally was sponsored by the City, Co-op Markets, Kiwanis Club, Palo Alto Sanitation Company, the Peninsula Conservation Center, and the Community Association for the Retarded, who all provided volunteers, newsletter articles, and enthusiastic support1 and WHER.EAS, in addition, the Rally was sponsored by the Palo Alto Branch of the American Association of Women, the California ~~~~~c Area Development Association, the League of Women Voters-Palo Alto, and the Mid-Peninsula Regional Open Space District1 and WHEREAS, City staff members also spent great time and effort in planning and implementing this Resource Rally; NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows: SECTION 1. The Council of the City of Palo Alto states its appreciation fo all participants and citizens who made the Great California Reso11rce Rally an enthusiastic success.
