RESOLUTION 5915
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
OJMMENDING THE OUTSTANDING ?ERFORMANCE OF THE
PALO AL TO PANTHERS WOMEN 1 S SOCCER TEAM
WHEREAS, the Palo Alto Panthers, a wanen's soccer team for persons 19 years
and younger, has compiled a record as District Cup Champions 1980, State Cup
Champions 1980, Western Regional runner-ups 1980; and 1981 Stanford Invitational
Women's Soccer Tournament Champions; and
WHEREAS, the team is comprised of women who played their high school soccer
at Pale Alto High School, Gunn High School, and Los Altos High School; and
WHEREAS, the Palo Alto Panthers are District Cup Champions 1981, and seeking
to extend their success by participating in two international tournaments in
Helsinki and Stockholm in June and July respectively; and
WHEREAS, this outstanding group of women re presents 5 a 11 Central Coast
Section players, 8 all tournament players, 12 all Santa Clara Valley Athletic
Association althletes, and 4 "most valuable" Santa Clara Valley Athletic Association
players;
~OW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Palo Alto hereby
recognizes the outstanding achievements of the Palo Alto Panthers and wishes them
the best of luck in the international tournaments in Helsinki and Stockholm
