RESOLUTION OP THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
APPROVING AN APPLICATION TO THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
FOR HOUSING ANO COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEFERRED PAYMENT
REHABILITATION LOAN FUNDS FOR RENTAL PROPERTIES
WHEREAS, on February 12, 1979, t.'le City Council adopted the
1979-82 Community Development Plan, the Community Development
Program and the Housing Assistance Plan; and
WHEREAS, on December 8, 1980, said City Council appr0ved
funding for the Housing Improvement Program in the sum of two
hundred thousand dollars ( $200, 000) to be funded from the City of
Palo Alto Community Development Block Grant Funds; and
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Al to now wi~hes to apply to the
State of California for Housing and Community Development Deferred
Payment Rehabilitation Loan Funds for rental units: and
WHEREAS, it is the intl:!nt of said State funds to make rehab-
i li tat ion loans to owners of rental properties in which 50 percent
of the tenants are low income and the owner agrees to limit rent
increases; and
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Al to does
RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Palo Alto hereby
authorizes the City Manager or his designated representative to
submit the appropriate application documents to the State of
California for its Conununity Developm~nt Deferred Payment
Rehabilitation Loan Funds and hereby authorizes the appropriate
City officers or their designees to sign the necessary documents to
complete said application.
SECTION 2. The Council of the City of Palo Alto finds that
this is not a project and, therefore, no environmental impact
assessment is necessary.
