HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO 5888• ORIGINAL RESOLUTION NO. ~ RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF TH~ltY OF PALO ALTO AMENDING THE PALO ALTO COMPREHENSIVE PLAN BY ADDING AN EMPLOYMENT POLICY AND AMENDING THE LAND USE MAP WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has conducted a review and on January 28, 1981, held a properly-noticed public hearing to consider amendments to the Palo Alto Comprehensive Plan. NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows: SECTION 1. ThP Co•Jncil finds that changed conditions and the public interest, health, safety, and welfare require certain amendments to the Palo Alto Comprehensive Plan set forth in Section 2 hereof. SECTION 2. The Council hereby amentls the Palo Alto Comprehensive Plan as follows: (a) Add •Employment Policy 4: Encourage the provi- sion of child care facilities on industrial sites,' as shown on Exhibit •A,• page 1 attached hereto. (b) Add •Employment Program 8: Support the use of variances, where appropriate, to ex~and site coverage in industrial zones for child care facilities. The Zoning Administrator can place conditions on approval of variances. If vari-ances are granted for expanded site coverage for child care facilities, the use of this additional space should be stricly limited to child care,• as shown on Exhibit •A,• page 1 attached hereto. ( c) Add approp.riate introductory and explanatory wording regarding the above Employment Policy and Program, as shown on Exhibit •A,• pages 2 and 3 attached hereto. (d) Land Use Plan Map Change land use designations of the following parcels (or portions of parcels) from Proposed Interchange to the designations listed below and as shown on Exhibit •a• attached hereto.
