RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING SCHEDULES G-1 ANO G-50 DUE TO THE EFFECT OF
A WHOLESALE GAS PRICE INCREASE UPON PALO ALTO GAS RATES
WHEREAS, the City Council has previously adopted Resolution No.
5863, which authorizes the City Manager to implement nondiscretionary
adjustments to Palo Alto gas rates to reflect wholesale gas rate
increases and to track Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) retail rate
schedules G-1, G-2, and G-50; and
WHERF.!AS, effective Febuary 9, 1981, an increase in the wholesale
gas cost was imposed upon the City of Palo Alto1 and
WHEREAS, the City Manager automatically adjusted revenues and in
~ccordance with Resolution 5863 has notified this Council of his
ministerial action;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Pale Alto does RESOLVE
as follows:
SECTION 1. This Council finds that the action taken by the City
Manager is in accordance with the provisions of Resolution 5863: that
the Palo Al to Gas Rate Schedules G-1 and G-50, shall substantially
conform with those rates contained on PG&E General Service Rate
Schedules G-1, G-2, and G-50, that the effective date is identical to
that date of the price increase, and that in all respects such nondis-
cretionary adjustments are approved.
SECTION 2. This Council finds that the revenue derived from the
~uthor1zed adJustments of said qas rates by the City Manager shall be
used only for the purposes set forth in the Palo Al to City Charter,
Article VII, Section 2, entitled "Public Utilities Revenue." The
adoption of this Resolution is, therefore, specifically exempted
under Public Resources Code Section 21080 ( b) ( 8) from the requirements
of CEQA.
SECTION 3. Pursuant to Section 12.20.010 of the Palo Alto Muni-
cipal Code, Schedules G-1 and G-50 of the Palo Al to Utilities Rates
and Charges are amended to read as shown on "Sheet Nos. 116x and la"
attached-hereto and incorporated herein.
