RESOLUTION NO. 5876
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OP PALO ALTO
APPROVING THE SUBMITTAL OF A LETTER OF INTEREST
REGARDING THE UNITED S'l'ATES DEPARTM.E:NT OP TRANS-
PORTATION FUNDING PROGRAM FOR PARKING AND TRAFFIC
MANAGEMENT AND TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT
WHEREAS, the policies and progams of the adopted City of Palo
Alto Comprehensive Plan seek to conserve energy, to reduce air pollu-
tion, and to better manage traffic and parking1 and
WHEREAS, the Council is interested in evaluating the United
States Department of Transportation program for parking and traffic
management funding and transportation systems management funding.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Manager or his designee is directed to sub-
mit a letterof interest to the United States Department of Transpor-
tation to inquire about the availability of funds for parking and
traff i.c management and transportation systems management.
SECTION 2. The Council finds that this is not a project under
the California Environmental Quality Act and, therefore, no environ-
mental impact assessment is necessary.
