HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO 5868,. • ORIGINAL RESOLUTION NO. 58~ RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THEITY OF PALO ALTO APPROVING THE PRIORITY PLAN FOR EXPENDITURE OF ALLOCATION OF FUNDS TO THE COUNTY OF SANTA CLARA FOR PARK, BEACH, RECREATIONAL AND HISTORICAL PRESERVATION PURPOSES (CALIFORNIA PARKLANDS ACT OF 1980) WHEREAS, the people of the State of California, at an election on November 4, 1980, adopted the California Parklands Act of 1980 (Public Resources Code Sections 5096.141 et. seq.), which became operative on December 1, 1980; and WHEREAS, this Act provides for an allocation of $85,000,000 for grants to counties, cities and districts for the acquisition, devel- opment, or restoration of real property for park, beach, recreational and historical resources preservation purposes pursuant to the alloc- ation formula contained therein: and WHEREAS, the amount to be allocated for expenditure within the County of Santa Clara has been determined to be the sum of $4,448,206, to be spent in accordance with a •priority plan for ex- penditure• approved by the County Board of Supervisors and at least fifty percent (50%) of the cities and districts representing fifty percent (50%) of the population of the cities and districts withiti the County; and WHEREAS, the required consultation bet.ween the County of Santa Clara and all the cities and districts within the County has occurred and a formula for allocating the local share of this 1980 State Park Bond Fund has been prepar:~d as shown on Exhibit A attached hereto, allocating forty percent (40%) of the County's grant for regional parks and open space and sixty percent (60%) of said grant for local city parks: NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows: SECTION 1. That the Council of the City of Palo Alto approves the pr1or1ty plan for expenditure and formula for allocating the local share of sa~d funds as set forth in Exhibit A attached hereto. SECTION 2. The Council finds that this is not a project under the California Environmental Quality Act and, therefore, no environ- mental impact assessment is necessary.
