RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY CF PALO ALTO
RECOGNIZING THE OUTSTANDING ACCOMPLISHMENTS Of
THl P4LO ALTO TIMBERS SOCCER TEAM

WHEREAS, the Palo Alto Timbers Boys' Soccer Team has established
itself as an outstanding team by capturing the 15-and-Under Age Group
Championship at the 18th Annual Boys• Invitational Soccer Tournament in
Calgary, Alberta; and
WHEREAS, the Palo Alto Timbers posted three victories and one tie
in the three-day tournament, defeating the Edmonton Strikers, the
Calgary Viking Raiders, and the Edmonton Southwest United. and tying
the Calgary Blizzard Falcons; and
WHEREAS, the team including Kieran Roctie, Chip Miller, Andy
Chmyz. Wally Whit ti er, Darryl Fenwick, Sean Bourke, Paul Young, Terry
Livingston, Todd Collart, Cam Smith, Steve Illig, Pat Prendergast, Elio
Roza, Rob Harley, and Coach Wa 1 ter Ti j i boy, is sponsored by the Pa 1 o
Alto Soccer Club; and
WHEREAS, this team of young athletes represented the City of Paio
~lto in the second-largest boys' soccer event in North Pmerica.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Counci 1 of the City of
Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows:
Section 1. That the Council recognizes the: achievements of the
Palo Alto Timbers Soccer Team, particularly its success in .. inning its
age group championship in the Calgary Invitational Soccer Tournament.
s~ction 2. That the Council, on behalf of the people of Paio
Al to, express its heartiest congratulations to the Palo Al to Timbers
S~ccer Team for their outstanding performance.
