RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL Of THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
REGARDING STANFORD UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
MODERNIZATION PROJECT
ORIGINAL
WHEREAS, the Stanford University Hospital serves as a 1 ocal coownunity hospital
for Palo Al to residents and physicians, as well as a major regional referral center
for specialized services also available to the c001nunity; and
W11E~EAS, the Stanford University Hospital proposes to modernize and expand its
facilities to serve adequately the needs of the region and the community; and
WHERFAS, the City of Palo Alto expects tha~ the Stanford University HC'spital
ModernizQtion wi11 for the indefinite future improve the Palo Alto community's me~ical
care; and
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto recognize~ the value of the operation of a 100dern
hospital in conjunction with a University Medical School.
NOW, THEREFORE. the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RE50LVE as follows:
SECTION 1. That ":he Council supports modernization of the Stanford University
Hospital
SECTION 2. That this resol ut.1 on does not constitute advance approval by the City
of Palo Al to of any of the financial, environmental or physical aspects of the
modernization project. The action of th~ City on those aspects within its regulatory
authority must await fu 11 pub 1 i c he1.1r i ngs and review in accordance with the City 1 s
adopted procedures.
