RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL Cf THE CITY Of PALO ALTO
RECOGNIZING THE PRESENCE Of, AND WELCOMING TO THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
REPRESENTATIVES OF OAXACA, OAXACA
WHEREAS, cultural exchange resulting from people-to-people cooununication is the
foundation of the Sister City Program which attempts to further international
understanding; and
WHEREAS, Oaxaca honors Palo Alto by participating in the student exchange program
and sending its representative to Palo Alto; and
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto wishes to welcome to the City and ------into the homes of Palo Alto residents; and
WHEREAS, this cultural exchange participation exemplifies the mutual objective of
the two chi es, tnat of attempting to promote and encourage and culthate
understanding between the people of the two cOfllJlunities; and
WHEREAS, this exchang~ progr~m has proven to be mutua~ly beneficial.
NOW, THEREFORF the Council of the City of PilO Alto does RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1. That this Council recognizes the presence of, and
welcomes t•l this commun1 ty from our Si st er City of Oaxaca.
SECTION 2. That this Council on behalf of the people of Paio Alto expresses its
heartfelt appreciaticn to for h1s/her warm and !:·~n1ficant
contribution to the Sister City program.
SECTION 3. That this Council honors and recognizes the student exchange program
as a vital element in the perpetuation and conti m .. dti on of the Sister City program.

; RESOLUCION DEL CONCEJO DE LA CIUDAD DE PALO ALTO .. RECONOCIEHDO LA PRESENCIA Y DANDOLES LA BIENVENIDA A LA CIUDAD
DE PALO ALTO, A LUS ESTUDIAN!ES DEL INTERCA.t-IBIO E INVITADOS, DE
OAXACA, OAXACA, MExICO.
CONSIDERANDO, que el intercambio cultural que resulta de la
eomunicacion de la gente es la fundacion del programa de Ciudades
Hermanas, el cual atenta p~omove~ entendimiento internacional; y •••
CONSIDER.ANDO, que Oaxaca ofrece su estimacion a P~lo Alto enviando
estos visitante•; y •••
CONSIDEl\ANDO, que ~stos visitantes son bienvenidos a la Ciudad de
Palo Alto ya los hogares de los r~sidentes de Palo Alto; y •••
CONSIDERJNDO, que la participacion en este intercambio cultural
ejemplifica el objetivo mutuo de las dos ~iudades, lo cual es
tratar de promovar, animar y cultivar el entendimiento entre la
gente de las dos comunidades; y •••
CONSIDER.ANDO, que eate intercambio tiene beneficios :uutuos;
POR LO TAMTO, el Concejo de l& Ciudad de Palo Alto resuelve
lo siguiente:

PRIMERA SECCIOH: Que este Concejo reconoce la presencia y da
la bienvenida a esta comu...~idad a los visi~'ntee de nuestra
Ciudad Hermana de Oaxaca.

Palo Alto, exproaa nuestra apreciaci6n sincera a 101 estudiantes
