RESOLUTION OP TSE COUNCIL OP TRI ClTY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING UTILITY RATE SCHEDULES G-1 AND G-50 AS A
kBSULT OP TRACIU:IG PG•E GAS RATE CHANGES
WHEREAS, the City Council has previously adopted Re~olution No.
5982, which authorize-~ the City Manager to implement nondi::ocretionary
a~juat•ents to Palo Alto qas rates to reflect wholesale gas rate in-
creases and to track Pacific Gas and Electric (PG•El retail rate sched-
ules G-1, G-2, and G-50; and
WHEREAS, on April 28, 1982, the Califonria Public Utilities Com-
mission i·endered Decision No. 82-04-117 authorizing PG•! to inei:ease
ita retail and wholesale rate schedules: and
wtmREAS, on May 4, 1982, the City Manager ad~uated revanues to
match and offset these rate changes, and in accordance with Resolution
No. 5~82 is required to notify this Council of his ministerial action;
NOW, TB!RBPORB., the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE
as follows:
SBCT!Oll 1. This Council finds that the action taken by the City
Manager la In accordance with the provisions of Resolution No. 59821
that the Palo Alto Gas Rate Schedules G-l and G-50 shall substantially
confor• with thoee rates contained on PG•E General Seryice Rate Sched-
ules G-1, G-2, and G-501 that the effective date ie Kay 4, 1982r that
in all reapecta auch nondiacretionary adjuatllenta are approvea.
SBCTIOll 2. Thia Council finds that the revenue deriv~d froa the
authorised idjua~t• of uid CJcHil rates by tbe City Mana9er shall be
used only for tbe purpose& aet forth in tb~ Palo Alto City Charter,
Article VII, section 2, entit~ed •Public Utilitiea Revenue•. The adop-
tion of this ~e•olution is, therefore, specifically e~eapt.ed under
Public Resource• Code Section 21080(b)(8) froa the ~ .. quireaents of
CBQA.

This schedule applies to interruptible service for customers ~o have alter-
nate fuel .standby f1cilities and whose usage is classified as Priorities P3
and P4 eccording to the California Public Utilities Coaniss1on's Gas Curtail-
ment Priority System.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
1. ~rvice under this schedule is subject to discontinuance in whole or
in part in case of actual or anticipated shortage of natural gas result-
ing from an insufficient supply, in~Jequate transmission or delivery
capacity of facilitie$, or sto~age requirements. However. the City will.
attempt to minimize disruption by providing adequate notice prior to
curta;lment. The City will not be liable for damages occasioned by
interruption or discontinuance of service supplied under tnis schedule.·
2. Ho customer shall be entitled to service hereunder unless adequate stand-by
equipment and fuel are provided and re ready at all times for-1nmed1 ate
operation in the event that the supply of gas hereunder shall be discontinu-
ed 1n '11hole or in part.
