RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AUTHORIZING THE FtLING OF A CLAIM WITH THE METRO-
POLITAN TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION FOR ALLOCATION OF
TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT ACT FUNDS · FOR FISCAL
YEAR 1982-83
The Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows:
WHEREAS, the Transportation Development Act ("TOA"), as amended
(Public Utlities Code Set ion 99200 et. seq.), provides for the dis-
bursement of funde from the Local Transportation Fund of the County cf
Santa Clara for use by eligible claimants for the puroose of community
transi~ services: and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the TDA, as amended, and
pursuant to th~ applicable rules and regulations thereunder (21 Cal.
Admin. Code Sections 6600 et. seq.), a prospective claimant wishing to
receive an allocation from the Local Transportation Puna shall file its
claim with the ~etropolitan Transportation Conunissior.: and
WHEREAS, funds from the Local Transportation Fund of Santa Clara
County will be required in fiscal year 1982-83 to provide subsidized
taxi service for low income, elderly, and handic~ppcd ~h~ a~e ~~=~1~ ~
use public transit and cannot d~ive automobiles:
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE
es follows:
SECTION 1. The Council hereby approves and authorizes the City
Manager to execute &nd file an appropriate claim pursuant to the terms
of the TDA, as amended, and pursuant to the applicable rules and regu-
lations promulgated thereunder, together with all necessary supporting
documents, with the Metropolitan Transpo1tation Commission, for an
allocation of TDA funds in fiscal year 1982-83 to continue t.he existing
paratransit program known as Project Mobility~
SECTION 2. Tl.e City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit a copy
of tnis rasolution to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission in
conjunction with the filing of the claim: and the Metropolitan Trans-
portation Co'l'lllllission is requested to concur in these findings and grant
the allocations of funds as specified herein.
SECTION 3. The Ccuncil finds that the adoption of th~s resolution
does not constitute a project as defined by the California Environ-
mental Quality Act or Title II of the Palo Alto Municipal C'>de.
