RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL CF THE CITY CF PALO ALTO
RECOGNIZING THE (lJTSTANDING ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF THE
1981-82 PALO AL TO HIGi SCHOOL MEN 1S BASKETBALL TEAM
WHEREAS, tne Palo Alto High School Ba~ketball team fin~shed with an outstanding
record of 21 wins and 5 losses; and
~HEREAS, the Palo Alto High $(.ho~l Bask~tball team won the Santa Clara Valley
Athletic League title; and
WHEREAS, the Palo Alto High School Basketball team becarr.e the surprise team of
the peninsula by playing great offense and defen~e; and
WHEREAS, the Palo Alto High School Basketball team won the tentral Coast Sectlon
playoffs defeating Westmoore and Westmont ··;gh Schools in the Central Coast playoffs;
and;
WHEREAS, the Palo Alto High School Basketball team fin1shed fn the final four
losing to Riordon High School in the Central Coa~t Section Basketball Tournr.ent
semifinals.
NOW, THE~EFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pa 1 o A h;o does
resolve as follc~s:
Section 1. That the Council reco,nizes the achievements of the Palo Alto High
SchoOT Hen's Basketball Team; in ;>articular its success in winning the Sant~ Clara
Valley Athletic League title and finishing 21-5 for the season.
Section 2. That the; Council, on b!half of the people of Palo Alto, express its
deepest congratul at 1 ons to the Palo Alto High school for an outstanding season and
wishes the team every success poss1 ble 1n w1 nni ng next year's Central Coast Section
Tournament Chillpionsh1p.
