RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL UF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO
THOMAS W. MACGOwAN UPON HIS RETIREMENT
WHEREAS, Thomas w. MacGowan retired on January 8, 1982, as a
po1ice officer after 29 years of continuous service with the Palo
Alto Police Department; and
WHEREAS, Agent MacGowan maintained an overall high level of
productivity, especially in the areas of traffic and fraud
investigations; and
WHEREAS~ Tom was selected as the Palo Alto Police Officer of
the Year in 1971; and
WHEREAS, he impressed his fellow employees with his honesty,
high ethical standards, motivation and dedication to the field of law
enforcement; and
WHEREAS, Tom was promoted to the rank of Agent and was
President of the California Check Investigators 1 Association; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is proud of his work performance and
appreciative of his efforts and dedication.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESCLVEO THAT the Council of the City of
Palo Alto hereby gratefully records its appreciation of the citizens
of this community for faithful service rendered to the City and
extends to Thomas W. MacCowan its sincere best wishes for a long and
happy retirement.
