RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO
EIVIND F. TAAJE UPON HIS RETIREMENT
WHEHEAS, Eivind F. Taaje retired on February 4, 1982, as a
pol ice officer after 28 years of continuous service with the Palo
Alto Police Department; and
WHEREAS. Eivind was appointed to the rank of Sergeant on March
1, 1964; and
WHEREAS, he showed outstanding organizing and
qualities in directing the policing for several parades,
the Diamond Jubilee Historical Parade; and
leadership
including
WHEREAS, Sergeant Taaje' s job knowledge and teaching ability
have consistently impre~sed h~s peers; and
WHEREAS, he was conscientious, an inspiration to others in his
ability to handle al1 types of people and situations; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is proud of his work performance and
appreciative of his efforts and dedication.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council of the City of
Palo Alto hereby gratefully records its appreciation of the citizens
o f t h i s co mm u n i t y for fa i t h f u 1 s er v i c e re n de red t o th e C it y a n d
extends to Eivind F. Taaje its sincere best wishes for a long and
happy retirement.
