HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO 5996... • ORIGINAL RESOLUTION NO. 5996 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO ACCEPTING GRANT FROM CALIFORNIA ARTS COUNCIL FOR "CREATION LOCATION" PROJECT OF THE PALO ALTO CULTURAL CENTER. The Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows: WHEREAS, the Palo Alto Cultural Center, a subprogram of the Palo Alto Arts and Sciences Division, exists to provide high quality programs and activities which increase and enhance the public awareness and appreciation of the visual arts1 and WHEREAS, the Creation Location project, developeu by the Palo Alto Cultural Center, is a participatory gallery offering intellectual and manual experiences with the arts for the general public with tours coordinated for regional school children, services organizations and senior centers; and WHEREAS, the California Arts Council {CAC), through its National Endowment for the Arts/Organizational Development program which provides financial support to local arts organi- zations for project support, has agreed to assist the Creation Location project through a grant of matching funds; and WHEREAS, the City must accept this grant through formal action; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the Ci~y of Palo Alto: SECTION 1. The City of Palo Alto accepts a grant of Four Thousand Four Hundred Ninety-eight Dollars ($4,498.00) from the CAC National Endowment for the Arts/Organizational Development program to match funds expended by the Palo Alto Cultural Center on the Creation Location project. SECTION 2. The Creation Location project will be con- ducted and the grant monies expended in accordance with an agreement numbered AC-1815, entered into between the Palo Alto Cultural Center and the Director of the CAC and dated October 1, 1981. SECTION 3. The City Manager or his designee, is desig- nated as the official representative of the City of Palo Alto and is authorized to accept grant funds from the CAC National EndowmPnt for the Arts/Organizational Development program and to complete such documents as are necessary to the acceptance of such funds. SECTION 4. The Council of the City of Palo Alto finds that this is not a project under the California Environmental Quality Act, and, therefore, no enviornmental impact assessment is necessary.
