RESOLUTION NO. 5990
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING UTILI'l'Y RATE SCHEDULES G-1 AND G-50 AS A
RESULT OF TRACKING PG&E GAS RATE CHANGES
WHEREAS, the City Council has previously adopted Resolution
No. 5982, which authorizes the City Manager to implement nondis-
cretionary adjustments to Palo Alto gas rates to reflect wholesale
gas rate increases and to track Pacific Gas and Electric <PG&E)
retail rate schedules G-1, G-2, and G-50; and
WHEREAS, on December 30, 1981, the California Public Utili-
ties Commission rendered Decision Nos. 93887~ 93889, and 93891
authorizing PG&E to increase its retail and wholesale rate sched-
ules; and
WHEREAS, on January 1, 1982, the City Manager adjusted rev-
enues to match and offset these rate changes, and in accordance
with Resolution No. 5982 is required to notify this Council of his
ministerial action1
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1. This Council finds that the action taken by the
City Manager is in accordance with the provisions of Resolution
No. 5982: that the Palo Alto Gas Rate Schedules G-1 and G-50 shall
substantially conform with those rates contained on PG&E General
Service Rate Schedules G-1, G-2, and G-50; that the effective date
is January 1, 1982: and that in all respects such nondiscretionary
adjustments are approved.
SECTION 2. This Council finds that the revenue derived from
the authorized adjustments of said gas rates by the City Manager
shall be used only for the purposes set forth in the Palo Alto
City Charter, Article VII, Section 2, entitled •public Utilities
Revenue.• The adoption of this resolution is, therefore~ specifi-
cally exempted under Public Resources Code Section 21080(b)(8)
from the requirements of CEQA.
SECTION 3. Pursuant to Section 12.20.010 of the Palo Alto
Municipal Code, Schedules G-1 and G-50 of the Palo Alto Utilities
Rates and Charges are amended to read as shown on P.Sheets No.
116bb and 1e• attached hereto and incorporated herein.
