RESOLU'rION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ?II.LO ALTO
AMENDING THE LAND USE MAP OF THE PALO ALTO ~OMPREHENSIVE PLAN
TO CHANGE THE DESIGNATION OF CITY-OWNED PROPERTY LOCATED AT
3005-3009 MIDDLEFIELD ROAD
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, after duly noticed public
hearing held on May 31, 1989, has recommended that the Council
amend the Palo Alto Comprehensive Plan1 and
WHEREAS, upon consideration of said recommendation after duly
noticed public hearing, the Council desires to amend said plan as
hereinafter set forth;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Cou11cil of the City of Palo Al to does
RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council finds that changed conditions,
resulting from a voter initiative passed on Nmtember 5, 1985,
which ~andated that property located at 3005-3009 Middlefield Road
be acquired by the City for recreational use, as well as the
public interest, health, safety and welfare require an amendment
to the Palo Al to Comprehensive Plan as set forth in Section 2
hereof.
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby amends the Palo Al to
Cornprehens ive Plan Land Use Map to change the designation of the
City-owned property located at 3005-3009 Middlefield Road from
"Multiple-fa.mily Residential• to "Major Institution/Special
Facilities• as shown on Exhibit •A•, attached hereto and incorpo-
rated herein by reference.
SECTION 3. The Council finds that none of the provisions of
this Resolution will have a significant environmental impact.
