RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF T'rlE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO ELIZABETH KITTAS
FOR OUTSTANDING PUBLIC SERVICE AS A MEMBER OF
THE HISTORIC RESOURCES BOARD
WHEREAS, Elizabeth Kittas has served the City of Palo Alto as a
member of the Historic Resources Board from June I, 1980 to May 31, 1988; and
WHEREAS, ~lizabeth Kittas has been an active member of the Historic
Resources Board, including serving as Vice Chairman and Chairman during her
tenure on the Board; and
WHEREAS, Elizabeth Kittas has actively participated in various
connittees and organizations, including the Downtown Study Coanittee, where
she assisted in developing provisions and incentives to preserve Downtown Palo
Alto buildings of historic and architectural interest and Palo Alto-Stanford
Heritage, where she served as Co-Chair and assisted in planning the 1988
California Preservation Conference; and ·
WHEREAS, Elizabeth Kittas has unselfishly contributed her knowledge
and experience in the field of architecture aPd project planning to Board
deliberations, and has assisted the Board in art1cu1ating its positions on
many issues relating to historic preservation in Palo Alto; and
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto wishes to acknowledge and thank
Elizabeth K1ttas for her personal C011111itment to the c01111Unity and interest in
historic preservation and for her significant persDnal efforts and substantial
dedication as a lneflber of the Historic Resources Board;
NOW~ THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED that the Council of the City of
Palo Alto hereby gratefully records and extends it sincere appreciation and
the appreciation of the c0111Unity to Elizabeth Kittas for her faithful and
excellent service rendered to the City.
